Advancement of Workplace Rights
The Office of Compliance (OOC) advances safety, health, and workplace rights in Congress in multiple ways. We administer and ensure the integrity of a neutral dispute resolution program; enforce safety & health, disability access, and labor laws; proscribe and adopt regulations to explain and implement statutory requirements of the Congressional Accountability Act (CAA); and carry out an education & outreach program to assist Congressional Members, employing offices, and Congressional employees in understanding their rights and obligations under the CAA.
In addition to these responsibilities, Section 102(b) of the CAA requires the Board of Directors of the OOC to review the CAA every two years and recommend to Congress changes that should be made to the CAA in order to advance safety, health, and workplace rights in Congress. Section 102(b) Reports.
