Teresa James came to the Office of Compliance in 1999. As the Director of the OOC’s Administrative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Program, she is responsible for the processing of all informal and formal requests for counseling on workplace rights afforded to congressional employees in the Congressional Accountability Act (CAA). Counseling requests can lead to mediation and hearing which also fall under the auspices of the unique ADR program. Prior to coming to the Office of Compliance, Ms. James worked in local government where she developed and promoted alternative dispute resolution programs to resolve regulatory and employment matters.

Ms. James also previously practiced employment and general law in the private sector. She earned her law degree from Creighton University and her undergraduate degree from Mount St. Mary's.
